Lead Cybersecurity Specialist

BCMC is engaged in supporting a U.S. Government client on a significant mission-critical development and maintenance initiative aimed at designing, constructing, delivering, and managing a network operations environment. This includes the introduction of advanced cyber capabilities to counteract emerging threats.
We are in search of a Senior Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will assist our client in the identification, response, mitigation, and reporting of cyber threats impacting their networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering 24/7 monitoring and incident response for hybrid cloud and on-premises customer networks.
- Assisting in the identification, response, mitigation, and reporting of cyber threats affecting customer networks.
- Generating reports and briefings to accurately represent the current threat landscape and associated risks based on various reporting sources.
- Facilitating proactive investigations into cyber activities targeting customer information and infrastructure.
- Analyzing and reporting on cyber threats while aiding in the detection, identification, monitoring, investigation, and analysis of computer network intrusions.
- Providing support during assigned shifts, including nights and weekends, with a hybrid work model.
- Developing and implementing training standards and procedures, including Work Instructions, Joint Qualification Requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Overseeing the training of newly assigned analysts.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be eligible for DHS Suitability.
- Over 10 years of directly relevant experience.
- Must meet internal qualification requirements within specified timeframes.
- Hands-on experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) performing detection, response, mitigation, and/or reporting of cyber threats affecting client networks.
- Knowledge of network protocols, devices, multiple operating systems, and secure architectures.
- Strong background in Cybersecurity Incident Response training.
- Current experience with network intrusion detection and response operations.
- Familiarity with cyber threats and the tactics, techniques, and procedures used to compromise computer networks.
- Understanding of MITRE Adversary Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge (ATT&CK).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based security solutions.
- Background in computer evidence seizure, intrusion detection, forensic analysis, or data recovery.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience as a SME in intrusion detection and incident response operations.
- Prior experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk.
- Proficiency in scripting (Linux/Windows command line, Python, Perl, etc.).
- Experience with data visualization tools.
Required Certifications:
- DoDI M IAT Level II Technical Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA + Security, SSCP, CYSA+) or equivalent, along with an Incident Response Certification (CEH, GCIH, GCIA, GNFA, or comparable certification), and relevant Cloud Security Certification (AWS or Azure).
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Alternatively, a high school diploma with 22 years of incident management experience.
