Medical Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary
CoxHealth is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood and body fluid analysis, to determine the presence or absence of disease.
• Provide guidance and oversight to other laboratory personnel with lesser credentials.
• Troubleshoot and address instrument issues and recognize the need for service.
• Use critical thinking and clinical knowledge to assess questionable results and correlate with clinical information to determine accuracy.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist from a recognized organization, such as American Medical Technology (AMT), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or American Society of Clinical Pathologist – International (ASCPi).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Completion of a medical technology program.
• Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of current information technology and ability to lead project teams to accomplish automation projects of large size and complexity.
