Job Overview:

Our nursing professionals thrive in collaborative settings with robust interdisciplinary teams, centered on a patient-focused care model within a diverse work environment.

Under the guidance and general oversight of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse employs evidence-based practices in alignment with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and directives from the medical staff.

The registered nurse, through expertise and capability, applies the nursing process to formulate a care plan that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Experience:
One (1) year of experience and/or successful completion of a Nurse Residency Program.

License and Certification:
Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications.

Preferred Requirements:
Education:
BSN or MSN.

Experience:
Two (2) or more years of experience in this specific clinical area.

License and Certification:
Certification in the clinical area. CNOR certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Fundamental understanding of nursing principles and practices. Proficient in reading and comprehending oral and written instructions. Effective communication skills to convey technical or complex information as well as instructions. Excellent interpersonal skills essential for interaction with departments, colleagues, physicians, managers, and patients. Ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate flexibility, and work collaboratively as a team player. Capacity to perform in a high-pressure environment. Commitment to exceptional customer service. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval.

Problem Solving and Decision Making:
Requires a high level of analytical ability to gather and interpret information from various sources. Capable of taking appropriate actions in response to changes, circumstances, problems, and/or emergency situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
