Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records within our leasing software, YARDI.
  • Coordinate tenant improvements, maintenance, and repair activities, as well as certificates of insurance at leased properties.
  • Assist in the processing of billing invoices for lease-related expenses.
  • Prepare lease reports and analysis.
  • Negotiate real estate transactions with sellers, attorneys, associations, consultants, and governmental agencies.
  • Resolve problems in acquiring property interests using sound judgment and knowledge of real estate practice and acquisition procedures.
  • Collaborate with management, staff, title examiners, attorneys, and outside consultants to achieve successful negotiations.
  • Secure documents necessary to provide clear title and conduct investigative discussions with purported owners or representatives.
  • Prepare offer, counter-offers, board agenda, and ordinance packages.
  • Justify settlements through written reports and oral presentations to management and user divisions.
  • Maintain and monitor project files, information, project reports, contact records, instruments, and contract provisions.
  • Track assigned projects through our computer tracking system.
  • Review appraisals, title reports, and legal documents.
  • Represent the division in a professional, courteous, and competent manner.
  • Perform duties associated with surplus real property sales, including advertising, web page updates, notifications, auction setup, and bid openings in compliance with Florida Statute.
  • Respond to inquiries from the public about county-owned property for sale.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and complaints related to county-owned property.
  • Coordinate and process requests for conveyances between the county and other governmental agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Liberal Arts.
  • Two years of related experience in land acquisition, leasing, property management, or abstract and title examination.
  • Property management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work projects.
  • In-depth understanding of basic real estate transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work well under pressure, and remain flexible to constantly changing schedules and demands.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, coupled with the ability to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with or the ability to learn Yardi software within 6 months of hire.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Real Estate Broker or Salesperson, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Property Administrator (RPA).
