Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including physical support with daily activities and personal hygiene, in a fast-paced environment.
- Respond to patient calls and determine the best course of action to assist them, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising, promoting independence and mobility.
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Ensure patients receive an appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Gather information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities, staying up-to-date on patient needs.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output, and report changes to medical or nursing staff, maintaining accurate records.
- Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff, monitoring patient health.
- Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine, identifying potential health risks.
- Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements, promoting adherence to treatment plans.
- Note observations of patient behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses, providing valuable insights.
- Stay up-to-date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure, maintaining certification and expertise.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
- Nursing degree from a CNA program.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced environment.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent personal hygiene.
