Job Summary

  • Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Ensure patients receive an appropriate diet by reviewing dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Gather information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities, staying up-to-date on patient needs.
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output, and report changes to medical or nursing staff, maintaining accurate records.
  • Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff, monitoring patient health.
  • Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine, identifying potential health risks.
  • Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements, promoting adherence to treatment plans.
  • Note observations of patient behavior, including complaints or physical symptoms to nurses, providing valuable insights.
  • Stay up-to-date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure, maintaining certification and expertise.
Requirements
  • State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • Nursing degree from a CNA program.
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent personal hygiene.
