Overview:
The Production Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by engaging in repetitive tasks that assist in the creation of JELD-WEN products, including Door Skins and various other building materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in all aspects of production operations as directed by management to meet the objectives of JELD-WEN.
- Gather necessary materials, utilize appropriate hand tools, and operate machinery to support production goals.
- Operate machinery, attach components, perform trimming, and paint both rough and finished products.
- Package, label, and organize finished products, ensuring accurate documentation and necessary repairs.
- Identify and report any defective materials or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include the ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Employees must also be capable of moving materials and products within their work area.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving machinery, vibrations, and elevated noise levels.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Proficiency in reading a tape measure accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and equipment.
