Safety Sensitive Classification: This position is classified as safety sensitive in accordance with relevant legislation, meaning employees may face disciplinary actions if they test positive for certain substances, regardless of medical marijuana licenses.

ROLE SUMMARY

This role is situated within various units of the
Police Department of Oklahoma City.

The position requires specialized knowledge and sound judgment to carry out tasks and casework that involve multiple steps, which may differ in nature and sequence. Candidates must hold any required licenses and certifications prior to commencing employment.

The Criminal Investigations Support Specialist will utilize their understanding of local laws, municipal regulations, police protocols, criminal behavior, and interviewing methods pertinent to their assigned unit.


Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: providing administrative and technical assistance; conducting formal and informal interviews; preparing police documentation; performing research and analysis; presenting findings; managing evidence; and providing testimony in court.

Travel may be necessary for this position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: All civilian personnel of the Oklahoma City Police Department must successfully undergo a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination prior to employment.

Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.

Work Hours:
This position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week.

Payment Method:
Employees are required to receive their compensation electronically, either through direct deposit or a pay card.

Background Checks and Drug Testing:
Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, a criminal history background check will be conducted for external applicants. Applicants will be provided with contact details for any third-party agencies involved in the background verification process.

If the accepted position requires a driver’s license, a Motor Vehicle Report will be obtained for both internal and external candidates.

For safety-sensitive roles, candidates will receive a copy of the Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy prior to being directed for drug testing.
