Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our Respiratory Therapy department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and administering prescribed respiratory therapeutic services.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Educate patients and families about their health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available resources.
  • Assist with the maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment and participate in inventory management.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses, demonstrating a commitment to patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • State-specific certifications, such as Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered, or Respiratory Care Practitioner, as required.
Work Environment

This is a night shift position, and you will be working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You must be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
