About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Technician I to join our team at City of Hope. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiogram, carotid, and peripheral vascular studies using non-invasive procedures to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels.
  • Evaluate the various valves and chambers of the heart and make appropriate measurements.
  • Conduct imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations, including exercise tolerance tests, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns.
  • Determine appropriate methodology and techniques to use, arrange immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning, and select appropriate imaging devices.
  • Recognize potentially serious conditions and bring them to the attention of the physician.
  • Maintain echocardiography and other equipment in efficient operating order, perform minor preventative maintenance, and contact outside services for major malfunctions.
  • Maintain inventory control, storage, and routing of supplies.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: High School or equivalent, Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
  • Minimum Experience: Externship during Cardiovascular program.
  • Req. Certification/Licensure: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and/or Register Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular credentialing international (CCI) Within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS CPR Card from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound.
