Echocardiography Specialist

City of Hope is seeking a skilled Echocardiography Technician II to join our team. As a Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist, you will use high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) and other non-invasive echocardiography testing equipment to produce images of the heart. Your expertise will be essential in supporting the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic services to our patients.

• Perform Echocardiogram, carotid, and peripheral vascular studies using non-invasive procedures to examine heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels.
• Evaluate the various valves and chambers of the heart and make appropriate measurements.
• Perform imaging and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations, including exercise tolerance tests, electrocardiograms, stress tests, and transesophageal echocardiography.
• Obtain patient history, explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and follow established pre-screening protocols.
• Determine appropriate methodology and techniques to use, arrange immobilization and/or support devices for proper patient positioning, and select appropriate imaging devices.
• Recognize potentially serious conditions and bring them to the attention of the physician.
• Maintain echocardiography and other equipment in efficient operating order, perform minor preventative maintenance, and contact outside services for major malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory control, storage, and routing of supplies.

• Minimum Education: Associated degree in Cardiovascular Ultrasound or Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years' experience performing M-mode and 2-dimensional echocardiograms, as well as Doppler studies.
• Req. Certification/Licensure: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or Register Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). BLS CPR Card from the American Heart Association.
