Per Diem Oncology Nurse Opportunity

City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Per Diem Oncology Nurse to join our Float Pool department. As a Per Diem Oncology Nurse, you will provide flexible nursing support across outpatient oncology clinics, delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments according to physician orders and protocols.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and report any adverse reactions or significant changes in patient condition to the medical team.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Perform assessments, including reviewing lab results, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient symptoms to identify potential complications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
  • Current California RN license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association.
  • ONS certification preferred, but can be obtained during the orientation period.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive per diem flat rate of $75.97/hr.
  • Eligibility for a unit differential up to $5.50/hr and weekend differential up to $13.37/hr.
  • A sign-on bonus of up to $2,000.
