Autonomous Vehicle Motion Planning Engineer

Core Responsibilities
The software architecture for a robotaxi is fundamentally centered around decision-making and motion planning in unpredictable and evolving environments.
We are looking for a software engineer with a graduate degree and a proven track record in developing real-time decision-making and motion planning algorithms tailored for autonomous vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance algorithmic frameworks to improve specific aspects of driving behavior and integrate these enhancements into our software systems.
- The Behaviors Teams focus on crafting geometric and reasoning frameworks that empower our autonomous vehicle to navigate urban landscapes smoothly and securely.
- Evaluate and select the most effective trajectory, optimizing various factors such as safety, comfort, and user experience.
- Collaborate closely with our Perception teams to acquire data from diverse sensors, leveraging rich attributes, simulation data, and high-fidelity maps to support the development of these technologies.
- Engage in research activities, including exploring, prototyping, validating, and refining innovative algorithms.
- On the development front, lead initiatives to optimize, oversee, and enhance on-road performance for models transitioning to production.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in comparable technical domains.
- Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, parallel computing, code optimization, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience in deploying deep learning algorithms for real-time applications with constrained computing resources.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Optimization, Robotics, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or a related technical discipline.
- Publications in prestigious conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCV, or PAMI.
- Experience in applying Reasoning, Optimization, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning techniques for conditional prediction and motion planning.
- Familiarity with convex optimization, computational geometry, or linear algebra.
- Experience with GPU, CUDA, or TensorRT technologies.
