Job Title: Supervisor, Operations

DSV - Global transport and logistics

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor, Operations to join our team in Lancaster. As a Supervisor, Operations, you will be responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities daily.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan, and assure continuous improvement.
  • Effectively keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations.
  • Ensure the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Implement and report on-going cost savings measures. Provide ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.
  • Meet all client specified KPI's and comply with Quality system requirements.
  • Manage the operations to achieve prescribed objectives. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly and equitably supervise, counsel, and (where needed) discipline team members.
  • Has overall training and evaluation responsibilities of warehouse staff.
  • Plans the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices, and instructions from customers.
  • Reviews pending jobs or trends, plan for reorganization of warehouse space, and needed changes in levels of supplies, equipment, or staffing needs.
Requirements:
  • Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3 years' experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
  • 1 year experience in loading.
  • 1 year experience in receiving.
  • Preferred: Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Good organizational and personnel skills.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral.
  • Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
