Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of a sterilization facility. This is a hands-on position overseeing customer service, logistics, maintenance, operations, quality assurance, safety, and training functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the interaction of all functions within the facility.
  • Work with the sales department to develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure customer product is processed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and procedures.
  • Seek continuous improvement in all areas of operation, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, OSHA, and NRC.
  • Administer and manage annual budgets for capital and operating expenses.
  • Represent the organization to industry groups, key customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Work with human resources to implement short- and long-range operating objectives, facility organizational structure, staffing requirements, and succession plans.
  • Implement critical strategies to secure competitive advantage in business processes, efficient workflow, cycle time reductions, supplier relationships, and alliances.
  • Analyze facility statistical data and make decisions based on that information.
  • Integrate activities between facility departments to solve problems associated with sustaining product, including improvements to existing processes and tooling/equipment, and new technology.
  • Interface with senior executive team members to optimize resources from each functional area, including safety, finance, sales, engineering, human resources, and quality.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a science-related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in a production environment, operations, or manufacturing, including 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Specific experience within the operations function of the medical device industry.
  • Strong general business knowledge and operations leadership background.
  • Strong understanding of systems and key drivers within an operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, quality, and safety related to regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, relationship building, mentoring, training, and project management experience and skills.
  • Balance of strategic and tactical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably within a fast-paced and matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Effective leadership, judgment, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels across the entire organization.
  • Results-oriented with a positive, professional attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done.
  • Above-average computer skills in the area of analysis using databases/spreadsheets.
Compensation

$110,000 - $188,500 per year, depending on experience.

Training

Must complete all required training for a General Manager outlined in the training manual.
