Position Overview
This role is part of the Employment Development Department (EDD) and focuses on advanced cybersecurity and fraud prevention strategies. The selected candidate will engage in high-level technical engineering tasks to address security and fraud challenges within the Cybersecurity Operations and Fraud Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams in the development of technical specifications and the design of intricate secure systems.
- Create and implement tools for detection, prevention, and response to security incidents.
- Collaborate on comprehensive security risk evaluations and audits.
- Maintain and enhance documentation related to security protocols and system configurations.
- Conduct thorough investigations into fraud and forensic matters.
- Oversee the monitoring of system capabilities, including vulnerability assessments and threat testing.
- Provide training to staff and contribute to the modernization of EDD's operations.
Specific Duties
- Design, develop, and automate complex information security systems, policies, and procedures.
- Apply advanced analysis techniques to identify and counteract potential data threats and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and respond to incidents involving privacy protection processes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all cybersecurity operations align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
