About the Role

LMI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Estimator to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (OASD(Sustainment)) in its mission to ensure compliance and governance for the delivery and sustainment of critical capabilities to U.S. Service Members and our allies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, cost estimation, and program management, with a proven track record of providing expert guidance and support to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis of existing program costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Financial Expertise: Provide financial guidance and support to the Program Office, including expertise on working capital fund appropriations and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop and maintain cost baselines, and provide estimates and input to support the Program Office Memorandum (POM) cycle.
  • Technical Data and Government Data Rights: Assess technical data, government data rights, and industry assertions on data rights, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Decision-Making Metrics: Compute decision-making metrics for comparisons of all alternatives, including net life cycle savings, net present value, and payback period.
  • Financial Transparency: Ensure financial transparency for the customer, providing clear and concise financial information and analysis.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, management, finance, math, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Previous work with the Department of Defense is a plus.
  • Experience with the PPB&E process and working capital funds is desired.
  • 10 years plus of experience.
  • Relevant cost estimating certifications with ICEAA or AACE is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with ACEIT and Crystal Ball software is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work problems and provide solutions to the client independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
