KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and maintain the operation of screening instruments while conducting preliminary evaluations of test outcomes for donor samples and quality control specimens.
  • Perform testing utilizing refractometers and pH measurement devices.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of screening and specimen validity testing methodologies, including EIA, CEDIA, ELISA, refractometers, and pH meters.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to screening equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all security protocols to maintain the confidentiality of donor data.
  • Follow all established procedures as outlined in the company's Employee Handbook.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or a closely related field.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Proficient understanding of analytical methods and laboratory procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of certification standards set by SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, and other pertinent regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with the functionalities of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and other laboratory software.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
  • Capability to lift and/or transport up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform full body movements.
  • Vision and hearing must be corrected to meet established norms.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills to develop and articulate laboratory procedures and reports.
  • Capacity to manage stress resulting from production demands.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Federal guidelines (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FDT regulations.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and suggestions regarding operational processes.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials may occur.
