Speech-Language Pathologist (K-12) Position

Empower Students with Effective Communication Skills

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to provide vital speech and language services to a diverse student population across the entire K-12 spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Comprehensive Evaluations: Assess students' communication needs specific to their developmental stage (elementary, middle, or high school).
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create tailored plans to address each student's unique speech and language goals, considering their age, learning style, and educational setting.
  • Implement Evidence-Based Interventions: Utilize a range of treatment approaches to address common communication disorders, such as articulation difficulties, language delays, fluency issues, social communication challenges, voice disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work with general and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students' communication development in all settings.
  • Monitor Progress and Analyze Data: Track student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing therapy plans.
  • Create Supportive Learning Environments: Foster positive and inclusive learning environments that promote communication skills, confidence, and social interaction in students across the K-12 spectrum.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest research and methodologies in speech-language pathology for the K-12 student population.
Requirements:
  • Louisiana State License in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP): A valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Louisiana.
  • Experience Working with K-12 Students: Prior experience working with students with speech and language impairments in a school setting, preferably across the K-12 spectrum.
  • Strong Clinical Skills: Excellent clinical skills in speech and language assessment, intervention, and program development tailored for students at various developmental stages.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to build relationships with students, parents, and school staff, and to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Data Collection and Analysis Skills: Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to inform therapy plans.
  • Understanding of Child and Adolescent Development: Knowledge of child and adolescent development as it relates to communication skills across the K-12 spectrum.
  • Passion for Helping Students: A genuine passion for helping students overcome speech and language challenges and reach their full potential.
