Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer III to join our New Shepard program. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing ruggedized electronic enclosures, assemblies, and installations for our reusable suborbital rocket system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for the New Shepard rocket
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Conduct structural analysis and finite element analysis to ensure the integrity of our systems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, analysis reports, and procedures
  • Participate in design and readiness reviews, and communicate technical information to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis
  • Proven experience with 3D CAD software, such as Creo or SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering structural design and analysis methods
  • Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical or equivalent finite element analysis applications
  • Competency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and familiarity with ASME Y14.5
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with PTC Creo 5.0 or equivalent, PTC Windchill PLM
  • Proven experience designing and building electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics
  • Experience with environmental testing, including vibration and shock
  • Experience with aerospace, launch vehicle, or spacecraft mechanical and/or avionics systems
