About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Mechanical Testing Technician III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our spacecraft and launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute mechanical tests to evaluate the performance of materials and components
  • Analyze and document test results to inform design and manufacturing decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to develop and implement test plans and procedures
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ASTM and AS9100
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical testing, materials science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of mechanical testing principles and techniques
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and results
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with industry-standard testing equipment and software
  • Experience with materials testing standards, such as ASTM E8 and E21
  • Knowledge of aerospace testing and quality processes, including Lean and 5S
  • Ability to design and operate manual machine tools, such as saws and mills
