We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Specialist to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing networked systems for the transmission of information, data, and video formats.

- Provide technical support, installation, and maintenance of new computer systems, printers, print servers, hubs, switches, and networking equipment.
- Manage the operations and improvements of Automated Data Processing (ADP) Systems, Resource Patient Management Systems (RPMS) hardware, software, security, network, email enterprise, infrastructure, client/server interaction, and clinical applications.
- Perform business and system analysis activities to provide support for the evaluations of design, development, and maintenance of software systems and applications.
- Conduct studies and analyses of IHS regulatory requirements, policies, program objectives, business processes, and existing IT software solutions to develop implementation plans/proposals for new or modified software applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D or equivalent degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree, or at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- Assisting in the review process for the acquisition of all information technology equipment and services.
- Performing and/or directing the performance of regularly scheduled systems management and maintenance procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the systems and databases.
- Maintaining the data communications network.
- Preparing operational guidelines for new software applications for implementation or testing.
- Providing evaluation of budget requirements for systems.
Additional Requirements: Selectee may be subject to a probationary period. U.S. Citizenship is required. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities. COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty. Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
