The Machine Specialist is a critical role at Olin, responsible for performing mechanical adjustments and repairs to high-speed automated production equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate machines, perform mechanical adjustments and repairs to production equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections of parts and components to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved.
• Remove, install, and adjust punches, dies, eject stems, bolts, etc., using various hand tools for proper alignment.
• Push hand trucks and fill hoppers to keep machines supplied with materials.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete and pass a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
• Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience operating mechanical equipment and heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts.
• Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calipers, and power and non-power hand tools.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overhead, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 400 pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.).
• Must have full vision, including color vision.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
Location-Specific Requirements:
• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
