ROLE SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities include the installation and wiring of electrical components for machinery. This encompasses the assembly and wiring of electrical and magnetic panels, as well as the general maintenance and repair of electrical machinery. The role also involves wiring and assembling machines, mounting and connecting servo and drive systems, conducting initial power tests, and troubleshooting retrofitted equipment. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with engineering and other electrical technicians to define necessary electrical materials. Customer support may be provided through phone or on-site assistance, along with the handling of materials for shipping and receiving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare electrical components for dispatch.
  • Safely operate forklifts for material handling and storage.
  • Assemble and wire electrical systems and components.
  • Conduct initial power tests and troubleshoot retrofitted machinery.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of basic ladder diagrams.
  • Assist in the final troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
  • Draft preliminary documentation for electrical circuits and diagrams.
  • Provide feedback on electrical circuits and diagrams to engineering teams.
  • Interpret and modify electrical schematics.
  • Have a basic understanding of servo system calibration.
  • Deliver customer support for warranty and non-warranty services.
  • Perform machine wiring tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Document daily work activities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Forklift safety certification.
  • General knowledge of machine tools and terminology.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles.
  • Proficient in advanced wiring techniques, including color coding, proper connections, and wire sizing.
  • Thorough knowledge of magnetic panel configurations, ensuring proper component spacing and voltage separation.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems and their functionalities.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards.
  • Basic knowledge of analog and digital servo systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot basic to intermediate PLC/Ladder diagrams.
  • Training in proper soldering techniques.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to size and utilize taps and tap drills.
  • Moderate computer proficiency.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
