Job Summary

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Specialist to join our team. As a Commissioning Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress, reporting, and change management.
  • Maintain contracts with complex subcontracted scopes and administer subcontractors, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.
  • Review and understand broader contract obligations as per the responsible project and work scopes, and assist the site manager in project start-up activities.
  • Participate in reviews of subcontractors' submittals for compliance with scope, design documentation, and coordination with other disciplines against the design documentation prior to forwarding to the design team for their review.
  • Assist with site inspection by the design team for installation deficiencies, and witness and sign off on systems commissioning.
  • Identify potential risks on project scopes and/or the project.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience in commissioning and start-up for complex systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes governing commissioning of building systems.
  • Expertise in Instrumentation and Control (I&C).
  • Proficiency in Systems Integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or LEED Accredited Professional are preferred but not required.
