Job Summary

Vistra is seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Lab Specialist to join our team at Perry Nuclear Power Plant in North Perry, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing various tasks associated with planning, developing, and performing troubleshooting, refurbishment, and repairs of electrical and electronic items.

The selected candidate will demonstrate commitment and ownership of their own safety as well as a willingness to address the safety of others and organization safety objectives.

This role requires in-depth technical knowledge of complex electrical and electronic devices and the ability to analyze electronic circuits.

The Electronics Lab Specialist must be able to understand how a part or component functions, conceptualize and visualize how the item must be tested to verify its proper operation, and devise methods and procedures to repair and test the item prior to returning it to the site as a usable spare.

Demonstrated strong computer skills, communication, inter-personal, customer service, and time management skills are essential for this role.

Ability to obtain and maintain qualifications required to perform electrical/electronic repairs, such as specialized test equipment, circuit theory, and soldering, is also required.

Availability and willingness to work overtime, call-ins, and off-shifts are necessary for this position.

Must have demonstrated ability for solving technical problems and leading others by having a thorough understanding of projects.

Should have demonstrated initiative, creativity, dependability, good judgment, and a good work ethic.

Ability to lift 50 lbs is also required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High school education with up to 2 years of formal post high school specialized trade, military, or technical training in electrical and electronic components and 5 years' experience;
  • OR an Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school in electronic engineering or servicing and 3 years' experience;
  • OR 4-year degree in a related field with 0-2 years' experience.

Advanced degree and/or applicable experience preferred.
