Seeking a Dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are currently looking for a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to enhance our radiation oncology department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, creativity, and strong communication abilities, along with a meticulous attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the oncologist by anticipating needs and delivering outstanding patient care.
  • Gather comprehensive patient histories, maintain accurate records, and facilitate client communication and education as instructed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform precise IV catheter placements for anesthesia.
  • Administer induction agents and monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery for radiation treatments and diagnostic imaging.
  • Utilize low-stress handling techniques for patient examinations and sample collection, with proficiency in venipuncture.
  • Assist in obtaining radiographs and utilize in-house laboratory equipment effectively.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician with valid Virginia licensure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician is essential.
  • Radiation therapy experience is encouraged.
  • Fear Free Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role ranges from $22 to $26 per hour, commensurate with experience.
