Position Overview

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Patient Care Associate plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate support to patients. This position involves assisting individuals with their daily living activities and providing essential care to those who are acutely ill. The Patient Care Associate is also responsible for maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Provide basic care to acutely ill patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.

Qualifications

Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:
- Experience in phlebotomy.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of a PCA/PCT diploma with relevant experience or certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals coursework.
- Experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Home Health Aide.

Training Opportunities
If candidates lack prior clinical experience but possess a high school diploma or are nearing graduation, training will be provided upon hire.

Certification Requirements
Effective January 2019, all employees must obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
