Tesla is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team as an Analytics and Automation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automated testing processes to ensure the quality, accuracy, and performance of our dashboards, advanced analytics applications, and reporting tools.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in data engineering, test automation, and business analytics to drive innovation and growth at Tesla. As an Analytics and Automation Specialist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish testing requirements, develop robust testing solutions, and deliver high-quality insights to the business.


Key Responsibilities
  • Data Integrity Testing: Validate data accuracy between source systems and dashboards, ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and transformation logic are preserved.
  • Performance Testing: Create and execute tests to measure and optimize dashboard load times and query performance, delivering a smooth user experience even with large datasets.
  • Develop and Implement Automated Testing Systems: Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for dashboards and BI applications, covering data validation, performance, functionality, and UI consistency.
  • UI and Functional Testing: Test for visual elements, layout consistency, and functionality, including interactive features like filters, data selections, and drilldowns, to ensure a user-friendly, accessible interface across all applications.
  • Data Cleaning & Validation: Maintain clean, reliable data by automating data cleanup processes and resolving quality issues to ensure accurate, reliable dashboard outputs.
  • Dashboard & System Maintenance: Regularly update and optimize Power BI dashboards and ensure smooth operation across all analytics applications.

Requirements
  • Experience with BI Tools: Proficiency with Power BI preferred and DAX language for creating, testing, and maintaining dashboards.
  • Strong Skills in Python and SQL ETL: Experience with scripting automated tests, data validation, and backend testing using Python and SQL ETL tools like Airflow.
  • Experience with Git: Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and the integration of automated tests is preferred.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities using first principles thinking.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills when interfacing with cross-functional teams.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience with Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $186,000 per annum, plus cash and stock awards.
