Synopsis

We're seeking a highly skilled Scientific Software Engineer to join our team. As an SSE, you'll be the primary point of contact for our clients' data automation needs, working closely with their teams to understand their goals and challenges. Your expertise in developing software solutions will enable us to streamline processes, improve data quality, and accelerate scientific discovery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to define their data automation requirements, develop customized solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Software Development: Design, implement, and maintain high-quality software applications to automate data processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, scientists, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development or analytical coding.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Strong background in computer science, physics, or engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in analytical programming languages (e.g., Python, Mathematica, Julia).
  • Hunger to learn and solve complex data problems.
  • Desire to improve software infrastructure for scientists advancing human health and welfare.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; Bay Area preferred.
  • Approximately 10-15% travel required, concentrated in the US West.

Salary Range: $120K-$180K based on experience.
