The Role:

As a Senior Manager in our Commercial practice, you will oversee a variety of engagements for clients ranging from multinational corporations to emerging startups. A solid foundational knowledge and broad exposure to federal income taxation, particularly in partnership and flow-through taxation, are essential. You will play a crucial role in developing internal training programs on partnership tax, engaging in business development activities (such as preparing proposals, presenting in webinars, and generating innovative ideas to enhance client positions), and participating in firm-wide initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical, research, and critical thinking abilities, are vital. Additional responsibilities include fostering the growth and development of junior staff.

As a Senior Manager, you can expect to:

  • Engage in business development activities (e.g., preparing proposals, presenting in webinars, collaborating with other service lines to provide a comprehensive tax strategy to clients);
  • Maintain client communication to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, stay informed on legislative changes, and lead effective change;
  • Conduct primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns;
  • Develop a robust technical and practical understanding of partnership and flow-through taxation;
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate Interns, Associates, and Senior Associates;
  • Receive formal training in partnership and flow-through taxation, on-the-job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and opportunities for further training through internal and external resources.

The Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years focused on partnership and flow-through taxation;
  • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred;
  • Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (e.g., CPA or JD);
  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek opportunities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
  • Proficient in technology.
