Assistant Store Manager Job Description

As an Assistant Store Manager at Aldi, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores. Your responsibilities will include assisting the direct leader with supervising day-to-day store activities, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans. You will also be responsible for identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Understand and communicate the company's overarching strategy and core values
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform the direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Communicate information to team members
  • Ensure store personnel adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
  • Resolve operational customer concerns
  • Identify and rectify hazards
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards
  • Assist with maintaining proper stock levels
  • Merchandise product neatly
  • Ensure product quality and freshness
  • Assist with achieving store payroll and total loss budget
  • Supervise day-to-day operations
  • Ensure direct reports complete assigned responsibilities
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience preferred
