Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Store Manager at Aldi, you will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans. You will also identify training opportunities to develop and grow the team.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Understand and communicate the company's overarching strategy and core values
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform the direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Communicate information and developments to the team
  • Ensure store personnel adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
  • Resolve operational customer concerns
  • Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper signage
  • Assist with achieving store payroll and total loss budget
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
  • Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment
