Job Summary:

The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for providing a single point of contact for technical support to end-users. This includes resolving desktop-related issues, incident tickets, and restoring optimal functionality. The Specialist will also assist in monitoring, maintaining, and performing backup functions on servers, as well as troubleshooting network connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving desktop-related issues and restoring optimal functionality.
  • Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and performing backup functions on servers.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve technical problems.
  • Work with vendor support contracts to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment.
  • Accurately and promptly record incident/issue and service request ticket work logs and service restoration activity in the incident management system.

Requirements:

  • Experience in monitoring, maintaining, and performing backup functions on servers.
  • Good understanding of a ticketing system and prioritizing tickets.
  • Familiarity with the use of diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation (hardware/software).
  • Ability to assist end-users on basic software, hardware, and peripheral device operations.
  • Ability to work with vendor support contracts to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment.
  • Good understanding of how to accurately and promptly record incident/issue and service request ticket work logs and service restoration activity in the incident management system.
