Role Summary
As a Senior Energy Innovation Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring BRITE Member and Portfolio companies. Your expertise will provide essential connections, resources, and strategic advice as these companies embark on their journey to establish and expand their energy technology ventures.
Many of our clients require guidance from initial funding stages through to product launches and acquiring their first customers. The Startup Programs team is committed to identifying and recruiting promising startups within the energy sector.
Your role will ensure these companies gain access to the necessary networks and expertise, granting them a competitive edge in their endeavors. Our objective is to enhance the success rates of innovators by supporting their growth in the region, thereby creating significant economic impact and shaping the future of energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Startup Mentorship (75%)
- Provide tailored advice to early-stage, high-potential energy technology companies through consistent, value-driven guidance in one-on-one sessions.
- Offer insightful feedback to both prospective and current clients as a subject matter expert, evaluating technical and market viability.
- Skillfully pose challenging questions to stimulate critical thinking.
- Network Development (15%)
- Establish and nurture relationships between BRITE, investors, and industry partners.
- Identify and share opportunities for BRITE clients, including funding sources, programs, and events.
- Create and disseminate relevant content such as blog posts, workshops, and guides tailored for BRITE clients.
- Team Collaboration (10%)
- Participate in weekly client review meetings.
- Engage in community-building events and forums, including networking and media events as directed by the Program Director.
- Review and refine BRITE tools and processes for program effectiveness.
Maintain transparency in service delivery through the use of CRM and reporting tools.
Collaboration
- Internal: Foster positive interactions with all departments and team members.
- External: Maintain constructive relationships with various stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience in venture capital or investment firms.
- Proven track record in securing funding for startups, including angel investments, venture capital, or corporate venture funds.
Preferred Background
- Experience in hardtech or deeptech research, development, or commercialization.
- Strong connections within the energy, manufacturing, and funding sectors.
- Industry knowledge in grid/utility, renewable energy, energy storage, or building efficiency technologies and markets.
- Demonstrated expertise in areas critical to the success of startups.
- Experience in mentorship or consulting roles.
Commitment
- Contract duration of six months with potential for renewal.
- Expected commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week, subject to negotiation.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation and relationship-building abilities.

Compensation Hourly rate commensurate with experience, typically ranging from $75 to $150 per hour.
