Theatre Production Manager

Borough of Brooklyn Center for Arts & Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to join our team. As a key member of our theatre program, you will be responsible for overseeing the scenic shop, supervising students, and ensuring the successful execution of productions.
Responsibilities:- Scenic Shop Management: Oversee the scenic shop, ensuring safe and correct practices, and maintaining tools, equipment, and materials.
- Student Supervision: Supervise students working in the scenic shop, including lab hours and work-study students.
- Production Execution: Interpret scenic designer's plans, provide cost analysis, and create technical working drawings to ensure successful production execution.
- Theatre Program Responsibilities: Track student progress, mentor student scenic designs, and teach lab portion of collaboration class.
- Leadership Experience: Collaborative leadership style with leadership experience working in a professional and/or educational scene shop.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Teaching and/or mentoring experience at the undergraduate level.
- Scene Painting and Carpentry: Scene painting and carpentry skills.
- Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work long hours, work with a flexible schedule, and perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and/or walking.
