Your Role:
As a Senior Homeowner Claims Field Adjuster, you will gather and document essential loss information from policyholders. Under guidance, you will investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve homeowners' property claims, including adjustments to conclusion. This role involves managing claims of varying complexity, often requiring physical inspections.
You will be responsible for all claims assigned at the Field Adjuster level, with expectations to advance to a Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster competency. You may also coordinate and oversee assignments for independent adjusters.
Your Responsibilities:
- Investigate and assess all aspects of property loss claims of moderate to high severity, both in-person and virtually.
- Engage with policyholders or third parties to photograph and inspect damaged properties.
- Determine the scope of repairs and prepare repair estimates using the Xactimate estimating system.
- Reach an agreement on repair costs with the insured and potentially with contractors.
- Oversee the repair process until completion.
- Collaborate with experts to ensure thorough investigation and identification of loss causes.
- Settle and process payments for dwelling or other structure damages after completing coverage analysis.
- Manage all correspondence to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Actively contribute to shaping our company culture through participation in employee resource groups and community service.
- Uphold cultural norms, including engaging with new team members and fostering relationships.
- Travel as necessary for the role, including local travel and occasional team meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of claims experience is essential, with a focus on homeowner claims being advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in basic math and computer skills, with a typing speed of at least 30 wpm.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Familiarity with handling multiple homeowner state policies and understanding fair claims settlement practices and building codes is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Xactimate repair estimating system.
- Prior experience conducting field inspections.
- Understanding of home construction principles.
- Demonstrated respect for diversity through effective communication with individuals from various backgrounds.
