Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Collaborate with students, parents, and educators to create personalized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide Direct Instruction: Deliver specially designed instruction in various academic subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers: Work closely with general education teachers to modify curriculum and ensure seamless integration of special education services.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the evolving needs of each student.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a degree in special education or a related field, such as education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Massachusetts State Licensure: Hold a valid Massachusetts state license as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education: Possess certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Regulations: Demonstrate a strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educators.
  • Ability to Work Collaboratively: Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality support to students.
