Position Overview:
This role is designated as the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator within the Supply Chain Management Service.

Key Responsibilities:
Duties encompass, but are not limited to the following:

- Distributes and manages workload among team members according to established workflows or job functions, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Monitors work status and progress, making necessary adjustments based on established priorities.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and provides guidance to colleagues on procedures, policies, and directives, while obtaining necessary information or decisions from supervisors on issues.
- Oversees inventory management at primary and secondary locations for all clinical and administrative services, including pulling and delivering stock, replenishing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
- Conducts inventory assessments using bar code technology and resolves discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts.
- Ensures cleanliness of areas in accordance with infection control guidelines, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory standards.
- Receives and processes supplies and materials, ensuring the integrity and sterility of items while maintaining accurate data in the inventory management system.
- Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff, as well as external vendors, with professionalism to coordinate activities and resolve supply management issues.


Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday through Friday, with specific hours determined by supervisory needs. This position is not virtual.

Qualifications:
To qualify, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirement:

Current Federal employees must have held a GS grade within the past 52 weeks to meet time-in-grade requirements.

For a GS-6 position, one year of service at the GS-5 level is required. An SF-50 showing time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with application materials.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, which includes:

- Distributing medical supplies, including sterile and non-sterile items, throughout the facility.
- Scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing, and distributing supplies.
- Assisting in training new staff and maintaining knowledge of procedures and policies.
- Managing stock levels, monitoring expiration dates, and ensuring proper rotation of inventory.
- Cleaning areas in accordance with aseptic principles and receiving supplies into the facility.


Physical Requirements:
The role requires standing and walking throughout the workday, frequent bending, and lifting of supply packages, occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds. Regularly pushes loaded carts of medical supplies, which may exceed 100 pounds. A portion of the time is spent operating equipment such as bar code scanners and computers.

Additional Information:
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all healthcare personnel. Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements is also necessary for all Veterans Health Administration personnel.
