Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook I to join our team at Blackstone Consulting. As a key member of our dining facility, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food to order, using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
  • Read food orders or receive verbal instructions from customers and prepare food accordingly.
  • Replenish serving lines and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Perform fast food cooking and grill cooking duties, preparing food items to be served to customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that customers receive high-quality food and service.
  • Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • May select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies, and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
Requirements:
  • Certificate in food handling/sanitation methods or ServSafe certified preferred.
  • Experience in customer service and food preparation.
  • Strong work ethics and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand and move within the kitchen area for 6 to 8 hours.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to BCI rules and regulations set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Comply with all HACCP standards.
