Job Overview:

The Software Engineer II/III is tasked with delivering advanced software solutions across various operational sectors within the Air Force. This role encompasses the design, enhancement, and development of code for systems associated with maintenance, calibration, and management of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, J2EE, JSP, Jython, Python, Perl, PL/SQL, HTML, XML, and Maximo for technical system support.
  • Engage with end users to devise solutions that align with their needs.
  • Create intuitive interfaces for seamless interaction with intricate hardware.
  • Develop business logic for data processing and user interactions.
  • Draft comprehensive specifications for software applications.
  • Participate in design discussions, testing initiatives, and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Establish quality controls and contribute to the development of the team.
  • Engage in Scrum ceremonies for backlog refinement and team enhancement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years in programming and development, with a strong emphasis on Java.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Maximo applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of coding techniques and Oracle databases.
  • Experience with PL/SQL.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in transitioning on-premises solutions to Azure Cloud.
  • Background in customer-focused environments.
  • Strong communication abilities.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High School diploma with 9 years of IT experience.
  • Associate's degree with 7 years of IT experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of IT experience.
Job Requirements:
  • Must hold CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent certification.
Physical Demands:
Extended periods of sitting at a workstation for computer-related tasks.
