Position Overview

North Florida Surgeons - Baptist South division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless experience for our patients within our expanding surgical practice.

As a Patient Services Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our office, which is situated in a thriving healthcare environment. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist patients as they enter the practice, whether in person, via phone, or through electronic communications.
  • Manage appointment scheduling in accordance with established office procedures.
  • Confirm patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring a thorough understanding of co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles.
  • Effectively communicate insurance benefits to patients.
  • Ensure that all necessary referrals are obtained prior to patient appointments, including consultations.
  • Collect and process patient payments, including co-payments and outstanding balances, at the time of service.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient office workflow by prioritizing tasks and adapting as needed.
  • Respond to patient inquiries through calls, letters, and other correspondence in a timely manner.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A dynamic and energetic personality with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Compliance with all relevant Federal, State, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations, as well as organizational policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting, with familiarity in using major EMR/EHR systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism and respect in all patient interactions.
  • Two professional references, including preferred contact methods.
Experience Requirements:
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
