Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a pivotal technical contributor in a Series B company as it scales.
  • Take a leadership role in the complete development of features, particularly in making architectural decisions and evaluating various approaches.
  • Foster a mindset of continuous improvement in your work, being accountable for enhancing our technology and processes over time.
  • Understand how to balance iteration speed with maintaining high standards of quality and technical rigor.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Passion for the product-oriented application of ML/AI, as this role will focus on production.
  • Strong technical expertise in at least one programming language, particularly Python or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with ML concepts such as supervised, unsupervised, and self-supervised learning, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Knowledge of modern ML/AI technologies, including natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (e.g., GPT-3+, open-source models), retrieval-augmented generation architectures, and their applications.
  • Experience in designing systems and data pipelines capable of managing the ingestion, digitalization, storage, and retrieval of document-heavy datasets, including document processing, search, and classification.
  • Proficiency in developing, testing, evaluating, and deploying ML models.
  • Ability to collaborate on all facets of product strategy and user experience.
  • Experience in shaping an early-stage technology stack and product, as well as an engineering organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in training, fine-tuning, and deploying large language models.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and scikit-learn.
  • Knowledge of modern web technology stacks, including TypeScript, React, GraphQL, NodeJS, Hasura, Postgres, Python, and AWS.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and best practices for continuous integration and delivery.

Compensation Range: $170K - $203K
