Role Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant (MA) operates under the guidance and licensure of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician in a clinical setting.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time position, requiring 27 hours per week. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a schedule of Tuesday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There are no weekend, night, or holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare necessary documents and supplies.
- Utilize computer applications effectively in the office.
- Manage scheduling and coordination of appointments, admissions, tests, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and inventory of supplies.
- Document patient history and vital information accurately.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Assist in coding for procedures and diagnoses.
- Handle pre-authorizations and referrals as per insurance requirements.
- Ensure timely billing through proper documentation.
Clinical Functions:
- Assess patient needs through various communication methods.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
- Conduct comprehensive intake processes as directed by healthcare providers.
- Administer screening tests as required.
- Support providers during examinations and procedures.
- Deliver patient education as instructed.
- Report significant changes in patient conditions to the Physician.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.
- Current RN/LPN license is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National MA certification from recognized organizations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to see and read information, communicate effectively, and perform manual tasks with precision. Expected to assist with patient mobility and handle various weights of supplies and equipment.
