Job Details:
The Financial Operations Manager will play a crucial role within our finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing all financial functions within our Architecture & Design firm.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the unique financial elements of the design and architecture industry, including project-based accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in financial management, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to financial strategy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain precise financial reports and statements in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to formulate and manage budgets for various projects and operational activities.
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Implement and manage accounting processes specific to project-based work, including job costing, revenue recognition, and expense tracking.
- Monitor and analyze project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with project objectives and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Manage internal controls and audit processes to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support in daily financial operations.
- Facilitate professional development and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Communicate financial performance, strategies, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in the Architecture & Design industry or related sectors.
- Proven experience in project-based accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Team Design Software, or similar systems).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
