We are seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Technician - Gearbox Repair Specialist to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on wind turbine gearboxes, including IMS and HSS bearing replacements, borescoping, pitch tube repair, driven and non-driven generator bearing replacements, and generator alignments.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose problems involving wind turbine generators or control systems, and identify root causes of malfunctions.
- Climb and Inspect Turbines: Climb wind turbine towers to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Test and Repair Electrical Components: Test electrical components of wind systems using devices such as voltage testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared testers, or fiber optic equipment, and repair or replace as needed.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on wind turbine equipment, underground transmission systems, wind fields substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Collect and Analyze Data: Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis, and provide insights to improve maintenance and repair processes.
- Train and Develop Team Members: Train end-users, distributors, installers, or other technicians in wind commissioning, testing, or other technical procedures, and develop team members to ensure knowledge transfer and succession planning.
- Education and Certifications: High School Diploma / GED, GWO BST, ART certificate (preferred), and relevant industry certifications.
- Experience and Skills: Winergy, Nanjing, ZF Gearbox Experience desired, and strong knowledge of wind turbine maintenance, repair, and operations.
- Personal Qualities: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work at heights and in challenging environments.

- Guaranteed Minimum Hours: Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week based on availability when assigned to field.

- Per Diem Allowance: Per Diem Allowance for travel and living expenses.
