Job Summary:

The Generator Winder is a skilled professional responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical components related to generator stator and rotor windings. This role requires a strong understanding of rotating equipment and the ability to locate and solve problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Generator Specialist or Lead Winder to develop and execute testing and inspection scopes.
  • Install, assemble, and disassemble machinery and equipment according to specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • Repair, replace, install, and maintain all electrical and mechanical components associated with the generator, stator, and rotor windings.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the work area at customer sites, adhering to health and safety procedures and policies.
  • Perform tasks in conjunction with applicable health and safety procedures and policies, demonstrating a commitment to safety.
  • Take direction from the Generator Specialist and/or Lead Winder, working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Hold the necessary qualifications and training to work in potential hazardous environments, including asbestos, lead, and chemicals.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a winder or in a similar mechanical role, demonstrating expertise and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery, with proficiency in hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions.
  • OSHA 10 certification and the ability to pass a drug screening.
