About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Member Service Representative to join our team at Navy Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and Resolve Issues: Research and resolve problems and discrepancies related to member accounts and loans.
  • Assist with Applications: Assist members with submitting consumer, mortgage, and equity loan applications, as well as credit card and overdraft protection applications.
  • Counsel Members: Counsel current and prospective members about Navy Federal's products and services, including savings and checking accounts, credit cards, and loans.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure cash and other negotiable instruments are handled properly and comply with federal and other regulations relating to financial products and services.
  • Identify Opportunities: Identify opportunities to cross-sell products and increase product penetration.
  • Perform Platform Banking Functions: Perform moderately complex platform banking functions under supervision.
  • Assist Team Members: Assist level I team members and provide training and guidance as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess effective verbal and written communication skills to accurately respond to inquiries and account requests.
  • Analytical Skills: Possess effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Organizational Skills: Possess effective organizational, planning, and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and navigate multiple screens and PC applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Member Service: Experience in member/customer service, preferably in a call center, retail banking, or financial institution.
  • Financial Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of savings and checking products, accounts, and services.
