Key Responsibilities

The Medication Assistant is responsible for monitoring and supporting the medication administration process under the guidance of the Wellness Manager. This role includes:

  • Overseeing the medication management program.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medication administrative records.
  • Facilitating self-administration of medications for residents.
  • Coordinating the ordering and receipt of medications.
  • Ensuring secure storage of all medications and maintaining locked medication areas.
  • Regularly reviewing and reporting on residents' medication administration records.
  • Communicating effectively with pharmacies, families, residents, and management staff.
  • Assisting in the development and updates of service plans and care logs.
  • Helping residents with scheduling and transportation for medical appointments.
  • Participating in the training and orientation of new assisted living staff.
  • Conducting regular room visits and checks.
  • Providing assistance with resident care as necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of relevant experience or training.
  • Completion of Atria's Medication Training is required.
  • Successful completion of all Atria specified training programs.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Competence in writing basic correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve straightforward problems.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and provide vaccination documentation upon hire.
