The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers Seek HR Professional

With a strong focus on rehabilitation and social welfare, The Salvation Army (TSA) is committed to providing individuals with the tools and support necessary to overcome adversity. Our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) offer a unique opportunity for individuals to complete our no-fee drug/alcohol rehabilitation program and regain control of their lives.

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Oakland and San Francisco. This role will provide daily, functional, and administrative support to the Human Resources Department, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with regulations. As the first point of contact for employee queries on HR-related topics, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $31.50-$34.50 DOE/DOQ, at 40 hours per week. Additional weekly hours may be required. Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and onboard new staff members, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Maintain accurate staffing matrices and personnel files, adhering to ARC Command/Review Standards.
  • Manage I-9s, HRIS entries, and other administrative tasks related to human resources.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to employee inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with regional HR managers to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive work experience in human resources.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and UKG software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
