About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teaching Assistant to join our team at the George Mason University Child Development Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily care and education of young children in our emergent, play-based preschool program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily care and education of children in accordance with Mason's CDC philosophy and values, as well as all licensing guidelines and NAEYC criteria;
  • Communicate directly with parents to establish and maintain family partnerships in the best interest of each child;
  • Help maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean, organized, developmentally appropriate, and engaging with the guidance of Lead and Assistant Teachers.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility or school;
  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Some coursework in early childhood education or child development preferred;
  • Background check clearance and TB risk assessment.
